Int. Committee’s Winter Olympics New York City Event preparations underway.
The Winter Olympics New York City Event #PyeongChang2108 showcased some of the most outstanding athletes in the world. Keep in mind, these excelling athletes are here for two reasons only; to get a gold medal, and to properly represent their country. In addition, the event will provide great competition and a pack of athletes ready to exert their energies to the maximum. Times Square helped organize the event, including setting up the main stages with diverse performances. One, in particular, the NYU Rhythmic Impulse, a traditional Korean Drumming team founded in 1987.
What Happens in New York City Before #PyeongChang2018
There is a HUGE celebration in Times Square 100 days before the Olympic event. Also, this year the event hosted Darius Rucker (former lead singer for Hootie and the Blowfish) on stage. Rucker’s performance was brilliant and the sound quality was top notch. Trampolines were shooting gymnasts into the air in a synchronized fashion.
From the Olympic Committee:
“THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE IS THE SUPREME AUTHORITY OF THE OLYMPIC MOVEMENT.
Acting as a catalyst for collaboration between all parties of the Olympic family, from the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), the International Sports Federations (IFs), the athletes, the Organizing Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs), to the TOP partners. [Also], broadcast partners and United Nations agencies, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) shepherds success through a wide range of programmes and projects. On this basis, it ensures the regular celebration of the Olympic Games, supports all affiliated member organizations of the Olympic Movement and strongly encourages, by appropriate means, the promotion of the Olympic values.”
